Pixieboard Photography was founded by Jane, a girl, 28, who has passion for photos with a strong visual impact. She first noticed a set of wall calendar with stunning colors from the gardens. The photos were shot with a film SLR by her father, who then submitted his fabulous works to the studio for commercial sales. She was 10.
Jane realized that her father needed to venture into bushes and hills and even waterfalls just to get his photos taken. She did not understand why. She followed her father into the studio’s dark room, and did not understand why too. She thought those were just for fun. She did not, however, think that those are the essential processes to go through to get photos published.
Years later, she discovered the fun of art, and the beauty of colors. She discovered the SLR at 24, when she was in university. She laid her hands on the bulky Canon 350D and took a shot : She discovered photography.
She tried to seek for tips and tricks from people around, and no one could teach her everything. She realized that it’s time to learn things all by herself. By looking through Youtube and Google search engines, she made her learning journey through til now, and is still learning.
From time to time, she took up challenges from her friends and colleagues to do ‘test shots’. From criticisms, she took up constructive ones and learnt from them. She looked through magazines too, and learnt from the styles.
It was 3 years later since she first touched the DSLR, that she finally got the ‘guts’ to take on paid assignments from people around. With a Canon 5D Mark II and appropriate lenses, she started building her customer base, and now, she is celebrating her 4th year in photography, and her 2nd year in the business.
In 2010, She gained her enthusiast membership [membership ID : EN1041] from WPPM (Wedding and Portrait Photographers Malaysia). Under WPPM membership and ethical business practices, she is weddings, events & products photographer and cater for clients who require professional services. She also does portraiture, pre-wedding, and post-wedding (pregnancy portraiture, baby portraiture, family portraiture) photographies.
